Equipment Installation
We recommend using the Build-up and Burn-in room for initial configuration of equipment prior to installation in the data centers. All network connectivity to a given rack or cage in the data center will be initially disabled. Following the installation of customer equipment, the customer must coordinate with the EdgeBCC Network Operations Center to enable network connectivity. EdgeBCC requests 24 hours notice to enable and provision network circuits in the data center areas. Place service requests via email to service@edgebcc.com or calling 866-670-EBCC.
Build-up / Burn-in area
Customers have access to a build-up and burn-in area and it requested that this area be used for the un-boxing and initial setup of all equipment going into the data center. Customer personnel with data center access will also have access to the build-up and burn-in area. This is a shared area, and as such all equipment should be properly secured electronically before leaving it in this area. The area is monitored by video surveillance and all access to the room is logged and audited.
Data Center Operations
Once equipment is installed in the data center and operational, please label all equipment so that is it easily identified. This labeling will assist Edge BCC personnel in providing remote hands service if required. It is recommended that you not use your customer name in these labels.
All cabling between cabinets or within cabinets must be enclosed within the given cabinets. Cabling will not be allowed to run on the floor between cabinets, in addition cabinet doors must be able to be secured and as such cabling cannot run in the front or rear of the cabinets.
Edge BCC highly recommends that clients follow the cabling standards detailed in TIA/EIA 568 and 569. The extensive use of cable wraps and organization of cabling will help contribute to the clean and functional operation of your equipment. If cabling is not maintained in a neat and orderly fashion, Edge BCC reserves the right to refuse remote hands service in areas where poor cable management will inhibit the ability to complete a remote hands request.
Customers are not allowed to store cardboard boxes, paper or other combustible material in the data center areas. Please insure all such material is removed before leaving the data center areas.
