About the EdgeBCC

Edge Business Continuity Center

The EdgeBCC (Business Continuity Center) is a 30,000 square foot disaster recovery workplace and business continuity data center created through a collaborative effort of LightEdge Solutions, Inc., a business to business voice, data and IT outsourcing company, and LBC Technology, an upstart business technology help-desk company. The Business Continuity Center is unique to the area and will offer both Local and National businesses an opportunity to mitigate business risks associated with their data and business applications.

Constructed specifically for the risks associated with Central Iowa, the EdgeBCC's pre-cast concrete wall and roof design has been tested to withstand sustained 200 mph winds for maximum tornado resistance. The entire facility is designed to offer N+1 redundancy on every main component including: multiple power grids, uninterruptible power supplies and onsite diesel powered generators. The data center is cooled by redundant Liebert cooling systems to ensure that servers are kept at their optimal working temperature. Security to the building is provided by closed-circuit TV monitored 24/7/365, a dual door man-trap at the main entrance, passcard security throughout the building and biometric access points for each data center.

Locally
The EdgeBCC facilitates both the disaster recovery workspace and the hosted networking abilities that are necessary for a comprehensive business continuity plan. Situated in Altoona, IA, near the junction of I-35 and I-80, the EdgeBCC can be used as a temporary base of operations in the event of a business interruption. Over 300 workstations with pre-provisioned PC's and voice-over-IP phones are in place and ready to be your temporary base of operations to ensure that your critical business operations are not disturbed.

Risk - Hurricane, Tornado, EarthquakeNationally
In the past 10 years the United States has witnessed unprecedented terrorist attacks, raging wind-fed wildfires, power-grid brownouts and some of the most devastating hurricanes on record. Although the future is uncertain, it is the responsibility of business owners to asses the risks associated with their location and industry, develop a business continuity plan that mitigates those risks and implement the necessary steps to minimize the impact on the critical operations of the company.

Located in the Midwest, the EdgeBCC offers companies located in risk-prone areas the opportunity to leverage the stability of Central Iowa to store critical data and host applications necessary for their core business operations. For additional risk management, stored data may be replicated to a LightEdge data center in another geographic location.

Compliance
Under the management and direction of LightEdge Solutions, the data center, business services and associated processes are regularly audited and achieve SAS70 certification.
